Inside Kincaid Furniture
J. Wade Kincaid founded the company in 1946 in Hudson, North Carolina. Since 1988 Kincaid has been a division of La-Z-Boy, which gave the brand national reach while keeping its solid wood identity intact.
Solid wood is the whole argument. Veneered particleboard cannot be sanded and refinished; a solid maple or oak Kincaid dresser can, which is why the brand talks about heirlooms rather than trends. Dovetailed drawer boxes, mortise-and-tenon joints, and dust-proofing between drawers are standard rather than upgrades.
Collections like Plank Road and Modern Forge show the range — Plank Road leans farmhouse-warm with multiple finish options on the same silhouette, while Modern Forge mixes wood with blackened metal for a cleaner, more contemporary room.
